On 26 January 2026, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) granted a collective proceedings order (CPO) on an opt-out basis, allowing an estimated £656 million claim against Valve Corporation to proceed to trial. The claim, filed on 5 June 2024, concerns alleged anti-competitive practices relating to Steam, the dominant PC gaming platform. The action is brought by Vicki Shotbolt Class Representative Limited, on behalf of up to 14 million UK consumers who purchased PC games or additional content during the relevant period.
